GRADUATES will now have more job opportunities in telecommerce
with a newly formed partnership between Teledirect Telecommerce Sdn Bhd and
Jobstreet.com.
Under the Jobstreet Campus Programme, Teledirect will be able to
take part in road shows, educational talks and exhibitions organised by
Jobstreet to promote telecommerce as a career to job seekers and students.
Teledirect managing director Francis Chung said there was a general
misconception that the sector offered no career advancement.
In fact, he noted, a recent survey showed that call centres paid
more than banks and jobs in telecommerce had been branded as hot.
One can go up the ladder from being a contact centre agent to
being a senior manager in the organisation, he said.
Chung added that the shared services and outsourcing (SSO)
industry would change drastically as Malaysia was positioning itself as a
regional outsourcing hub for the Asian region.
Jobstreet chief operating officer Suresh Thiru said the site had
more than 1,000 jobs available per month for fresh graduates.
There is a fast growing number of jobs opportunities for fresh graduates in the
SSO and business process outsourcing industry, he added.
